Roots ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal family memories app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
When you use Roots, we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any data beyond what you explicitly add to the app.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides authentication, database, and file storage services. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Firebase's own privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.
When you create a shared family space and invite members, those members can view content within that space according to the role permissions you assign. You can remove members or delete the space at any time.
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete individual memories, people, or your entire account at any time from within the app. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers.
Roots is designed for use by adults to preserve family memories. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via the email associated with your account. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
